  • Staff: Licensed surgeon/appropriate physician for the procedure + nursing staff trained in basic life support, with risk triage policies and anesthesia limits (usually local anesthesia only).
  • Medication Safety: Compliance with controlled substances and psychotropic regulations if present (storage, records, inventory).
  • Steps: Update the specialty (add “Office-based Surgeries” under the facility activities), add staff, prepare the room according to Attachment 62, implement infection control and sterilization policies, then request inspection.

  • Equipped dental chairs, suction/spittoon unit, water/air source, separate sterilization area for dirty↔clean instruments, and medical waste containers.
  • Dental X-ray (Panoramic/Periapical): Requires NRRC license + shielding report + dose monitoring for staff.
- Critical Policies
  • Infection control in dental clinics (barriers, heat sterilization, monitoring sterilization indicators, PPE, needle-stick management).
  • Clinical privileges policies for dentists. Nucleus.
- Key Attachments
  • Maintenance contracts for autoclaves/X-ray devices, certificates for devices marketed via SFDA.
  • Staff: Internal Medicine Specialist/Consultant as supervisor, and nursing staff. Clear linkage with emergency/referral pathway to hospitals for unstable cases.
  • Equipment: Examination rooms, ECG, nebulizer, basic monitoring devices.
  • Policies: Chronic medication management, follow-up of chronic diseases, infection control.

  • Staff : Ophthalmologist/Consultant.
  • Equipment : Slit Lamp, Tonometer, Ophthalmoscope, and Autorefractor as per services.
  • Ophthalmic Laser (YAG/Argon etc.): Treated as a medical device requiring SFDA compliance + room/protection and operating instructions supported by safety policies.

  • Staff : Orthopedic Specialist/Consultant.
  • Equipment : Examination bed, plaster/splint, sutures for minor wounds; if X-rays are available in the department, NRRC is required.
  • Procedures : closed subluxation, splints, etc. within the clinic, with application of office surgery policies for emergencies.
  • Staff : Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist/Consultant + Nursing.
  • Equipment : Gynecological ultrasound (non-ionizing), fetal Doppler ultrasound, gynecological examination bed.
  • Policies : Low/high risk pregnancy assessment, referral to delivery/hospital when necessary, infection control.
  • Devices : Treated as medical devices by SFDA (supply/maintenance/listing).
